The "All About the Music of Cochran" concert is a continuation of the unique "Cochran Days" series, which consists of recitals by extraordinary artists dedicated to the music of Julian Cochran.

The event will take place on June 20th at 19:30 in the Concert Studio of the Polish Radio. Witold Lutosławski (Modzelewskiego 59 street).

Cochran's works are set in the spirit of the piano traditions of Liszt, Balakirev, Ravel and Prokofiev. The composer is also inspired by the folklore of Central and Eastern Europe. His music is now performed all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Sophia is an accomplished pianist and pedagogue, who throughout her career has performed around the world both solo and with an orchestra. She has graduated from the Catholic University of America and the University of Miami and has been awarded prizes in many international piano competitions, among others the First Prize at the Washington International Piano Festival Competition.

A performer on historical as well as modern keyboard instruments, Viacheslav Shelepov is well versed in a wide range of musical styles.  He has participated in multiple classical music festivals and is a laureate of numerous international piano competitions. Shelepov has performed in many prestigious concert halls throughout Europe, including Piano Salon Christophori in Berlin and Accademia Bartolomeo Cristofori in Florence.

Belgian concert pianist, who performed in numerous European countries. Her debut cd, Eclectic/Being me, got chosen among the 10 best classical music albums released that month on Apple Music worldwide. She also started her own podcast: Musing with Marie and is regularly asked to talk about classical music on the television and the radio. François started to play the piano at the age of four. She finished her Bachelor degree at the Conservatory of Maastricht, her masters degree in Belgium. She perfected her playing at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Italy.

Gabriela Graboń is an outstanding young violinist, winner of numerous awards at international and national competitions. She improved her skills at courses and workshops with well-known educators, and since 2018 she has been studying at the Academy of Music in Łódź and is a member of the PRIMUZ orchestra. In the academic year 2021/22, she studied at the Conservatorium Maastricht as part of the Erasmus+ program. For her artistic achievements, she received many scholarships, including the Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Artistic Scholarship of the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship.

Pianist, chamber musician. He regularly performs at national and international festivals. Paweł Popko graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied in the specialisation of piano chamber music, and the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz piano class. He is currently a doctoral student at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. Paweł Popko is the winner of many awards at international competitions, including: 1st prize at the International Music Forum in Mäntta, Finland, Stanisław Moniuszko International Polish Music Competition in Rzeszów. The pianist is particularly fascinated by contemporary music.

A graduate of Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien. She took part in a program dedicated to the most talented students of music schools - Young Music Academy at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He is currently studying Master Vocal Performance at the MDW University (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien). Magdalena is a participant of the Opera Academy at the Grand Theater - National Opera in Warsaw, where she perfects her skills under the supervision of outstanding teachers. She is a laureate of numerous international vocal competitions.

Andrzej Wierciński
Warsaw

Winner of numerous prizes at international piano competitions (including 1st prize at the International Piano Competition in Saint-Priest, the National Piano Competition named after Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw, and the 3rd prize at the International Piano Competition in Hong Kong). The pianist graduated with honors from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, and also received a diploma of a postgraduate piano course at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Andrzej Wierciński's outstanding competition achievements resulted in invitations to concerts in most European countries, Japan and Indonesia.​

The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Flanders State of the Art and the Australian Embassy in Poland. The special guest of the evening will be Julian Cochran, who comes to Warsaw from Adelaide (AU) to listen to interpretations of his works by sensational artists from Poland, Germany, Belgium and the USA.
